As I deplete my pile of 200gr Sierra MK .. I'm looking for a replacement stash for my 8x57 loading. I'd LIKE to find a 197-200gr bullet with a cannelure in the appropriate spot.

This bullet: https://www.grafs.com/retail/catalog/product/productId/12616

Appears to have the cannelure WAY too low on the base, for some reason. THAT stuff won't feed if loaded to length with the cannelure (read it's significantly overlong if crimped at the cannelure.)

I desire a cannelure in the appropriate spot for a roll crimp, these are to be used in belt fed, and my (brand new) Winchester brass has very inconsistent neck tension. (Some shave copper off the bullet with .005" tension, some have only .0015" tension.. bad QC on Winchester's part).

Neck trimming 1k pieces of brass = no. Measuring the brass and sorting by wall thickness = equal amounts of suckage, especially considering the neck isn't consistent across the circumference; some brass is .002 thicker on one side than the other!

At least a roll crimp will help keep the bullet where it's supposed to be.

(And mental note.. never buy Winchester 8x57mm again... crap brass)

So... anyone know of a (moderately cheap) bullet that'll fill the need?

197-200gr w/ a cannelure that will give an appropriate OAL on brass trimmed to the trim-to-length.
