Saw a photo of your Chargemaster in a recent thread. Tell me why there is a soda straw sticking out of the powder tube. Does it go all the way back to the slot in the tube in the hopper? How long is the total length? Does it have anything to do with changing some of the settings of the unit to say, 6.00, 2.00 and 0,50 in order to make it charge faster and not overflow?

It's fine, I'll answer here too.
The soda straw is to prevent powder from clumping up and dumping a bunch on the slow trickle. It helps prevent overthrows. (HUGE help on that respect, I very rarely get an overthrow since I added the straw).
That was a tip I picked up right here on this forum, by the way. Good to know it's continuing to help.
McDonalds straws are close to the right size, I had to "shim" it with a partial cut of a second section of tube to get it nice and tight.

Just did the same. Also picked up a tip some where on the web, maybe here too I dunno about changing the settings on the machine. I did that and it works great. Goes a bit faster. The guy who wrote about that used a thin walled brass tube in place of the straws.

Go to the thread about "If you are reloading today" scroll down to post #25 on page one of the thread. There you'll see Trent's Chargemaster with the straw sticking out of the tube.

Are you saying that the whole straw only has a length of 1.5 inches? If so, I gotta cut mine off. It goes all the way to the slot in the tube. Now that I think about it, with the straw covering the "lands and grooves" inside the tube, the powder wont advance down the tube huh? Better cut mine to 1.5 too.

Yup, cut it down. You only need a short segment at the end of the tube to smooth it out before it trickles out. The REST of the tube needs to have the spiral, otherwise powder won't advance.
