Even includes the spent round used to document the factory test fire (the yellow packet).

A set of burl ironwood grips I've been holding in reserve. Still undecided vs the all business black grips.

We didn't just bring sexy back, we brought her friends too.

That's a nice looking package. Interesting that the spent round is aluminum cased.

What is the "Colt" .22 card in the case? Is that a coupon for a sub-cal?

The aluminum round struck me as unusual as well. As for the coupon, yeah, it's an advert for a drop in barrel.

My Glock 19 came with aluminum case spent rounds

Really good looking 1911. Nice clean slide.
I agree, tough choice on the grips. The wood is
very nice. But the black against the SS looks
pretty good as well.

Don't let the thread die. Let us know how it shoots
( once you score some ammo ).

Um... hi. I was led to believe there would be cookies? ...

:p

I REALLY like the ironwood grips. Nobody makes nice grips like that for my Tuari, sadly.

I was looking for cookies too, I feel deceived. :scrutiny:

Beautiful pair, have you taken the pistol to the range yet or should I ask if you have found any ammo yet?

Too bad about the deep milling machine errors on the front of the slide.

But them unnecessary grooves on the front of the slide keep the holster makers happy though! :D

Didn't you know those are there to, um... ah, cool the barrel? :uhoh:
Speaking of holsters, just picked up this guy from JBP Holsterama (http://www.jbpholsters.com/servlet/the-38/Leather-gun-holster-ambidextrous/Detail)

Regent is a line of 1911s by Umarex USA (http://regentarms.com/products/models/r200s.html), imported from Turkey and presumably distributed out of Fort Smith, AR according to the stamp on my pistol. They're mainly known for airsoft products (http://www.umarexusa.com/) but other products also include .22s.

While the R200 hasn't seen a lot of press (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ih5ozyuU6js), Gunblast has reviewed the R100 (http://www.gunblast.com/Regent-1911.htm) favorably. I also owned one before trading it away. My only reservation matches that of hausofguns, in that their mags are crap. It's an easily correctable issue tho. So far fit and finish on my R200 seem very well executed, save the uneven stainless finish on the thumb safety. The grips also aren't molded well enough to the thumb safety hinge resulting in mushy safety action. Five minutes with a dremel applied to the grip interior fixed that as well.

I'll probably be able to hit the range next weekend for a full report :)

They have had good reviews for such a new and unknown company. The non lowered ejection port has a tendency to dent the cases but otherwise a generally well build 1911.

I'm also disappointed that we don't have pictures of weapon-themed cookies or cookie-themed weaponry.

My 1911 loyalties lie with Armscor, but those Regent guns have some promise. It's a shame Umarex got their grubby hands into them, though - Umarex is why Walther is putting out P22 and PK380 guns, and the source of nonsense like "colt gold cup rimfire by walther" ... hopefully they didn't cheapify the Regent line as well.

Yes. I was interested in where you bought the cookie cutters shaped like a 1911. Kinda upset. I'm thinking sugar cookies with frosting for grips.

Just as well I guess. I bet if I took some to a school bake sale the kids would get suspended. Actually, being in Texas, maybe they'd get extra credit.

Holy crap, that was fast. Holster is already here and I ordered it on Friday. Pretty minimalist in nature but it secures my 1911 almost perfectly and stays locked to the hip when drawing. Not sure I would trust it to endure heavy continuous wear, but at $19 it's sturdy and will work nicely.

The replacement hex screws for the grips arrive next (hate those flatheads) and now with some ammo, range time should be imminent.
And everybody knows pie is better, duh.

The empty fired case is not " test fire proof". Some states { New York??} require a fired case be sent in on every new fire arm for their data base:D, which, by the way, has never been used to solve a single criminal case.
