I'll start with Indiana 'cause I live right smack in the middle of it. But I'd go quite a few miles to get to a good one (IL, KY, OH, MI, WI).

Anybody have a recommendation? I am talking a real for sure gunsmith. Somebody who could fix an old gun...fix a revolver...the real deal. I can obtain the services of a Glock armorer anytime I want (which is a good thing 'cause I got 3 of 'em). I am talking old school bone fide gunsmith who does work that can be relied upon.

I d google your question , Then make some phone calls. Other opinions may or may not be valid in so far as "old school" reguirements are concerned. :)

Denny Reichard has an excellent rep. Sand Burr Gun Ranch is in Rochester, Indiana. He's been working on revolvers for about 40 years.

I've been drooling for the chance to send him a S&W 3" 686. If I ever get one.
