So i have had sig pistols for 15 plus yrs, but this new 226 i just got has this plastic tool in the box. What is it for? I can strip down the pistol blindfolded but can't for the life of me figure out what you would need that thing for? Nothing in the directions either.

If it has the 1 piece E2 grips.....it's the tool to remove them!

Yeh! That is the tool! So it is to remove the grips? Or the main spring?

It is inserted into the mag well and twisted to spread the grip out of engagement with the grip screw holes
