Can .243 brass be formed to work in 6mm Rem. (244). I know the .243 is a smaller case than 6mm is, but can it be fire formed?

No, the 6mm Remington is based off of the 57mm Mauser case. I am not even sure .243 would chamber (I hope it wouldn't) you would have some sort of case failure I would think.

No.

When formed, the 6mm Rem case is already .188" longer then a .243 Win on it's best day of excess case stretch.

Well, thanks, there goes that idea out the window. I guess I'll just have to use 6mm brass instead.

It's common for people to use 270 and 30-06 to form 7x57 & 8x57.....the 6mm rem is also a 6x57. I don't know how hard it would be to trim and reform.
Food for thought, the 257 Roberts is also a 6.5x57......

^ yup

My manual of cartridge conversions states to use .270 brass to convert to 6mm Rem.
