I have always thought what is a perfect pair in revolvers. Mine is a S&W m65 and a S&W m642. What is your pair?

Iggy those are sweet. I almost hate you.
March 9, 2013, 08:12 PM
I don't have a picture of them together, but it would be my Dan Wesson 715 4 VH and my Dan Wesson 722 4 VH. Exactly the same gun, different caliber. Both set up with virtually identical DA/SA trigger pull, same weight, size, sights, one in .357 Mag and one in .22 LR.

Don't hate me, my perfect pair includes a semi.
Smith 52-2=38 WC
Fred Schmidt custom Smith, short cylinder=38 WC(only)

My "perfect pair" is a S&W 696 primary and a Charter Bulldog Pug for backup. .44 Spl times two. Iggy, you have a serious problem. I don't think there is a cure as yet. But thank you for the NICE photos. Those break tops are simply divine.

I'm fightin' it as hard as I can. Honest I am!!

Now that's a fine lookin' pair of old timers.. Shortened up 19 teens vintage if I read them right.
posted via that mobile app with the sig lines everyone complains about

My matched pair are my Smith model 66 4" in .357 magnum and Smith 651 4" in .22 magnum, they aren't as pretty as some I've seen here. But they are deadly accurate. I have owned them both for a long time and accustomed to them.

I'd like to pair my 12-2 with a .38/44 but I don't have one yet. My only pair is a birdshead Uberti 3.5" with a stainless Blackhawk 5.5", both in .45LC. Iggy, love the pics. I'd love to add a Freedom Arms 83 in .454 to the mix, it's a better match to the Ruger.

I'm partial to my Ruger Blackhawk 45 Colt paired with my Ruger Single Six, both blued.
perfect pairs you say.
Redhawk 44 Speed Six 357
GP100 and SP101 both 357s
Nickel 29-2 and 34-1
Stainless Python and DS-II
Colt and USFA SAAs in 45 Colt
Lipsey's Ruger 44 special Blackhawk and Sheriff's Vaquero
Uberti's in 38WCF
And OM and 50th anniversary flat top Blackhawks in 357

I think this is going great.
March 10, 2013, 12:24 AM
I would say my Ruger Super Blackhawk .44 and my Blackhawk .357 I would like to add a single-six for a nice threesome.

Model 28, 4" and Model 36, square butt, 2".
Problem is, I only have the Model 36 at the moment. For the last ten years, I've always wanted a Model 28 4". I've passed on so many over the years. I used to laugh when someone was asking more than $400 for one. Now I look back and cry because everyone I see is over $550...

My 4" and 6" Pythons.

To me, a perfect pair of anything is two things that compliment each other by having each one fulfill a separate and distinct role, rather than two guns that are almost identical.
My perfect pair is a Ruger Super Blackhawk .44 Mag with 5.5" barrel, and a Ruger LCR in .38 Special.
I own neither. :D
March 10, 2013, 04:03 AM
My S&W m25-5 in 45 colt and my Ruger 4-5/8" 3 screw 45 colt brass frame.
March 10, 2013, 05:03 AM
if I'm going to have a pair, they're going to be functional and both serve a purpose... working off my own collection I'd go with my Ruger GP100 3" and my Dan Wesson 15-2 with 8" both in .357 mag - carry with ease when you want it, or reach out and touch something when you need it.
March 10, 2013, 06:15 AM
I would have to go with my 642-1 and my 629-4 6" barrel. I carry both of these on a regular basis (we have open carry in my state)
They aren't pretty, but my little 642 and my 6" Model 28 are a perfect pair. One extreme to the other. Perfect for everything I need a revolver for, from plinking to target shooting, HD, predator protection and even CCW.
March 13, 2013, 05:09 PM
As the OP has it. I have a 642, and a 3" 13-3. I could see me going for a 65, if I ever came across one when I could afford it.
eta: um, dang, that's a lot of revolvers. I think my wife would have a fit.
March 13, 2013, 07:40 PM
I must say that this is going much better then I had planed. So many revolvers and only two hands
March 13, 2013, 08:44 PM
Well, I have one half - my 625 Mountain Gun in .45 Colt. To pair with it I'd like a 2" barreled K frame, probably a 64 or 65. That will be my perfect pair.
March 13, 2013, 09:18 PM
Take your pick.:D:D:D
H.o.l.y. C.r.a.p! I feel woefully inadequate now. I have a new goal though: to have a large enough collection that the firearms get their own bed. If it wouldn't be so uncomfortable one might be tempted to roll around on that bed like a millionaire wallowing around on their money.
March 14, 2013, 12:53 AM
my dream pair is my Taurus M82 and an M85 snubbie.
March 14, 2013, 01:14 AM
I'm not completely sure which is my favorite or perfect revolver pair but I do have a few candidates.
How about a S&W K frame M&P and a J frame Chief's Special?
