Getting ready to reload my first .223 in a couple of weeks. Have reloaded 10 each of 45 AUTO and 380 AUTO but have not fired them yet - hope to test them this week.

I have a Colt M4 with a 1-7 twist. I have some Hornady #22492 52 gr A-Max and noticed that on the box they show a twist rate of 1-14. Are there going to be any issues using that bullet in my M4?

Shouldn't be a problem. A-Max's should be constructed stout enough to handle a 1:7 twist. Some of the lightly constructed "hornet" bullets could come apart in flight due to the high spin rate.

Hornet, SX, Blitz, and other lightly jacketed varmint bullets may blow up in flight from a 1/7 barrel.

The A-Max will not.

Good news. I also have box of Midway Dogtown Bullets 55 gr FBHP - will they be OK as well?

Yep - Dogtown's should be OK as well.

Dog towns might be a little fragile for the 1-7 twist. Don't really know till you shoot a few. If you have multiple holes in the target for each round fired, they are too fragile.

If you notice a Grey vapor trail halfway to the target?
