Not really hard to find if you look. You can get blue ones here for $339.

Make a WTB (wanted to buy) advertisement in the "buy and sell" forum here and at other boards. Something should come up. Otherwise try one of the gun auction/brokerage sites.

Do a search on www.gunbroker.com or www.auctionarms.com for p89 and see what is there. The going price for a NIB P89 is around $320-$350, so you should be able to get a used one cheaper. If you look hard enough, you may be able to find one with some Hi-Cap mags. GOOD LUCK!

if you buy via an auction or on internet, you have shipping plus handling charges and transfer fees on one or both ends. Probably end up adding at least $35-50 to the price

Unless it's something not available locally, it's probably better to get it at a local shop

That is true sometimes, but I have to defend buying online!

If you buy online, a lot of the time you can get a better deal what you will pay locally.

Example: I am thinking about buying a Glock 23. Around here they sell for $490 + $34.30 in tax = $524.30. I can find one online NIB for $435 +$15 S&H +$25 transfer = $475. If I buy the Glock online I will save $49.30. With those savings, I can get 3 100 round WWB value packs.

I also do alot of gunshopping online.

Another case in point, Kimber Pro Carry II LNIB $575 + $25 shipping + $20 for FFL transfer = $620.

Kimber at the local gunshow $779 + 7% tax = $833:what:

Ruger P944 at my local shops sell for around $500 before taxes and fees!!! I can buy one online for $350, plus $25 Shipping, plus $60 for the transfer and I am paying $435! Online is great, but I like the convenience of paying $100 more and being able to handle it before I buy.

I agree with you. $60 for a transfer is robbery. Around here they are around $20-$25.

I have a P944 and mine only cost $370 NIB. You need to find a cheaper gun shop. $500 for a Ruger, $60 for a transfer, I have never seen prices that high before.

Why don't you take a look at the guns at the local shop and handle it there. Order it online for $350 +$25 S&H + transfer, adn you come out $100 cheaper for the same gun at the local gun shop. Use the $100 for ammo.

The highest I've seen for NIB Ruger semi-autos around here is $400. Transfers are $20-$25. Then again you are in California, your results may vary.
