One of the guys on AR15.com posted this video of him swapping the cylinder in his Pietta 1858 Remington.

:what:

I've seen AR15 mag changes take longer than this. Just goes to show you how ridiculous proposed "high capacity" magazine bans are.

That's quick. The gun has to be really loose to do that. I have one that would slow him down a bit. The cylinder rod has a finish on it like a 1/4-20 screw.:banghead:

Yeah, see how fast he does it once he has fired a bunch of rounds and the gun is all gummed up with fouling. You can tell by the sound that that gun is squeeky clean. Remmies foul up quickly and then they can get a little bit stubborn.

Clint Eastwood wasn't nearly that fast in "Pale Rider."

Pretty quick. A combination of good dexterity and practice.

Remingtons aren't the only ones that can swap cylinders relatively quickly... :neener:

I may have found my own problem for why I have such a rough time with my Uberti '58's. For some "Colt" inspired reason I keep insisting on taking them out the right hand side and inserting from the right. I'll have to try shucking and slipping them in from the left.

There is simply NO doubt that he spent a lot of time practising that swap. He's amazingly fast.

Wait'll he clicks a cap on the edge of the frame when he's swapping in the loaded cylinder. The boom will give him the shakes for years. That'll slow him down.

My cylinders take a lot more fiddling to get lined up. :)

He didn't have to be fast, he made up for it with his hypnotic stare.....:D
