A while back, I ordered a holster from THR's very own TAKtical. I had been looking for an ultra low profile pancake holster for my S&W 642, but just couldn't find anything I liked... So I ordered an IWB hybrid from TAK.

I've carried that revolver almost every day since I got the holster. Retention is good; the gun hasn't come out of the holster unintentionally, but it isn't tight enough to interfere with my draw.

The gun conceals very well... I have no problem concealing it under a regular, un-tucked t-shirt. Not a slightly larger t-Shirt, one of the ones I usually wear... even a few that are a little tighter than my normal shirts.

Probably the biggest selling point of this holster, apart from TAK's great customer service, is how well this gun carries. The holster doesn't shift position on the belt. It doesn't yank my pants up when I draw. Its very comfortable. I have a Crossbreed Supertuck that I sometimes carry an LCP in, and while it may be a lighter gun, Tak's holster doesn't pinch or grate against my skin like the Supertuck does. Yes, I have found the holy grail: A way to carry a bigger, more powerful, firearm, MORE comfortably than a smaller, lighter, pistol.

One thing I'd like to make clear though: If you are looking for a holster that will keep the bad-guy from taking your gun, this holster is not going to do that. There are no locks, buttons, snaps, straps, rubber-bands, or voodoo.

If, like me, you carry your gun everyday, and you don't want your gun to be physically "locked" in place, if you want to be able to carry a gun ALL day, and value keeping that gun concealed all day, then I would strongly recommend considering one of these holsters. You can see pictures of his work here: http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=679311

In short... just get one.

He's currently suffering the pain of success - he is selling them through a couple of LGSs, and business is too good. I was going to buy three recently, and he was about six weeks behind. It's a part-time business for him.

I couldn't wait, and the LGS had CB Supertucks in stock. To me, they wear exactly the same. My TAKtical was an early one (last September, IIRC) and I believe he has made improvements since then (black leather was an upcharge back then), so the current ones are very, very similar to the Supertuck - but less expensive.

I am full time but I received over 100 orders between november and january. Due to my pricing, almost every order is for more than one item. Being a one man shop, there is no way for me to finish orders as fast as I am receiving them. That is why my for sale thread is closed and Im not taking new orders except for 1 or 2 from repeat customers that are willing to wait a month or so. I did sell off a couple things from my collection recently to order new machinery and tools to speed up the process. Once I get my lead time down to 1-2 weeks, I'll start accepting new orders. April 1st I should be able to re-open the for sale thread.
