Private sales would be a felony, lending a gun for more than seven days would be a felony, etc, etc.

I believe that the Senate Judiciary Committee is made up of 18 members, of whom 10 are Democrats and 8 are Republicans. Thus the vote should not come as a surprise.

If the bill survives in the full Senate, it must also be passed in the House of Representatives. There the majority on the Judiciary Committee are Republicans, and the Chairman has stated that a bill similar to the one in the Senate will not get out of his committee.

At this point the sky is not falling, but do continue to write your representatives, all of who will be up for election in 2014. Explain that you are very displeased, and have a very long memory.

We really need to do well in the mid terms. I can NOT imagine what would occur if the Dems, got both the house and senate.

Please dont tell me how your guy is the exception. They always seem to fold, go party line, just ask Colorado. Not that the (R)s are without problems, just we really dont need a rubber stamp congress and senate.

What we realllllllly need to do is to make sure the Senate and the House don't pass the legislation that comes out of the Judiciary Committee that further restricts firearms, firearms magazines, or ammunition.

Just because it has passed out of Committee doesn't mean that it has made it through the Senate or the House to become law.

As to the 2014 elections, we need to make note of the politicians that supported each of these pieces of legislation and replace them through hard work and personal sacrifice. The backlash should be resounding and clear.

BUT first, we must work tirelessly to let our elected officials know that no amount of threats by Bloomberg's PAC to flood their elections with outside money will be effective, that not only will we tirelessly work to ensure they are reelected if they oppose the prohibitionist legislation, but that we'll work even harder to replace them is they support it.
