Just bought a 700 sps tactical. Used my lathe to make an oversized bolt knob tonight.

I dig it.
If I had the skill or tools to do that, I would have soaked a primer in oil or something, maybe take out the anvil, and reprime the case with that ;)

heh, matches your scope knobs. since you custom machined it, you should have made cuts in it like the scallops on the bolt knobs... would have looked cool but prob not the best thing for your fingers

NICE! :D (Note that I'm happy for you, but nonetheless a little green with envy)
What material did you use? Aluminum?
How did you secure the case head into the knob? Heat and shrink? Epoxy? Silver solder?
I sure wish I had the time to do something like that!
And the skill.
And the imagination.
And the design sense.
Not to mention the lathe. :(
