Finally got myself a nice, accurate .22!

This thing handles like a dream! Shoots well too, with the right ammo (side note: ammo!!! :banghead:)

I haven't been able to find out much about this gun. Does anyone know what the distinctives of the NRA model would be?

More pictures and commentary at my blog (http://www.cocktailsgunsconfederates.com/remington-model-34-22-rifle/).

Thanks for lookin',

I shot this gun also. Incredible! The best trigger on a rimfire I have ever felt. Extremely ergonomic and refined. The best bolt action .22 ever IMO!

Not to kick mud into the faces of all the Winchester fans, but vintage Remington .22's are the best made, ever, bar none, no exceptions, end of story.:D

I'm not necessarily a fan of any single gun manufacturer (except maybe Ruger... and old Marlin), but I have to say that the Model 34 is the nicest .22 I've ever handled. Admittedly, that doesn't include a whole lot and I've never handled a premium .22 like a CZ, but even still... this was an average .22, a working man's rifle back in its day (which was mid-30's, btw).

It is really a shame there aren't more Rem 34s around - they're great little guns and don't command a very big price.
