Has anyone used this ammo before? Is it good? I plan to use it on my M44.

Looks like the Barnaul Arsenal stuff. Another Soviet Bloc ammo maker; supposed to be decent stuff.
I have shot a couple of boxes of that ammo in my M-44 Mosin-Nagant, shoots as good as the other ammo.

It's pretty common for x54R to have a mild steel core.
I guess the Russians find it cheaper or easier to use than lead for some reason.

Have you shot this ammo in the M44 yet? How much did you pay for it, and where?
Have you shot anything else in that rifle yet? If so, with what results?
If you like your rifle, where did you get it and for how much?
Forgive all of the questions, but I'll be getting my C&R soon, and some variant of the M-N is tops on my shopping list.

Sam,
You can read my report at this link. BTW, the ammo we used were wolf and some eastern bloc ammo (probably). Got our rifles from Big 5 for $80. You'll probably get it for $40-50 with your C&R.
