My Ruger MKII .22 with 10.5" barrel - You are cheap to shoot and very accurate. You make me look like I am good with a pistol. We do things together that I could not do alone.

My Colt Series '80 Mustang in .380 - You are so easy to be with. When we unite on the face of your gentle trigger pull, you always hit what I am aiming for. You are often with me prepared to suprise others in my defense.

My S&W 5906 - You were my first and I will keep you and love you forever. Before I had ever shot a pistol, you consoled me with the idea that I could miss 15 times and only need to hit once to be saved. Your stainless frame and slide faithfully endure my neglect while resting full of 115gr. +P corbons, ready to leap to my aid, should the call ever come.

My model 29-3 S&W .44 Magnum - I saved you from that guy who haphazardly handloaded. We went back to S&W to get you put back in time and get the magnum classic upgrades. You are as hard to carry as you are hard to put down. I adore you because when we are together, we just can't miss.

My G-23's - Never have I known a pair that was so easy to be with. Comfort is a powerful thing. And did I mention 100% reliable? The one with Meprolites by my bed and the other in my truck. 14 chances at pure, unadulterated giving, each.

My S&W 1006 - When I was at the gunshop to send my .44 to get worked on, you looked up at me with those big dark grips, and I could not resist. We were not looking for a long term thing; you to get out of the glass case, and me to find comfort while my .44 was away; that was a decade ago and we are still together. Your classy power and your unabated versatility render me unable to let you go.

My G-20 - I only wish that I might one day be man enough to fully appreciate your beauty. When I hold you I feel as if my hands are barely around you. I may occasionally handle you effectively for a time, but mastery of your mysteries continues to elude me.

My Ruger GP100 .357 - Such verbosity! Such accuracy! Never before was I able to perforate beer cans with a serious caliber at 25 yards. (note to self, do not put target beer cans on bow of boat) All this with a S/A trigger sweeter than pure cane sugar.

None of my pistols are any better or worse than any other. The many disparaging remarks often made here about this or that pistol are not necessary. All pistols have inherent strengths and weaknesses, as do all people. A person who judges a pistol by its pedigree is as ignorant as a person who judges other persons by their pedigree's. The wise folks get to know individual things and people before deciding. And the most wise do so looking not for the bad, but for the good.

How do you love your guns?

More than most but not as much as Twoblink.

I don't really like my M1A or KZ45 but have them just because. I love my P7 and Beretta like nuts though!!!

Let me go and say that I love my wife and children immeasuraby, while my love for my guns is measurable and lesser. However, if someone were to presume a condition of my love by attempting to make me choose, I might likely conclude that they had proven themselves less than worthy of the commitment bestowed upon them, and decide that the best pursuit of our relationship resides in our continued protection and safety through arms, and hope to address their issues through conversation, and maintain my continuance of an effective defensive position generally.
