So Colorado is passing a 15 round magazine limit, and that is what the 5906 has. But the lawmakers also added a clause against mags that could be extended.

How do you tell if it is un-alterable?

Don't worry about it. If you don't own an extension then is isn't readily converted.

(Thats how I'm going to look at it anyway)

That would make ALL new Glock mags, save for the 36, illegal, since there are several brands of add-on base plates that can add up to 8 rds.

How do you tell if it is un-alterable?

No, it's what "they" decide.

The 59 series magazine isn't "readily converted" since the magazine tube base plate retaining lips go inward. This would cause major hang ups with any after market add-on.

there is but given his location is CO & WA he's probably concerned about moving mags in & out of the state.

I dont think it'll be an issue unless you do something else to piss off the cops. The class 6 felony will see use as an addon charge. the rest, especially the convertable part, not something to worry about.

Really, with a spot welder or some solder any mag can be extended pretty readily.

Does the factory base plate come off?

While it doesn't look like a screwdriver slot, there is a hole in the base. ???

Yes, I would prefer to have grandfathered legal non-extendable mags.

Yes, it comes off.

Insert a small screwdriver into the hole (disengages the lock plate) and push forward. Be sure and keep the mag spring under control.
