I recently wrote an article on the rifles used by the Texas Rangers for the summer issue of Guns of the Old West magazine. I hadn't shot my .44-40 1873 carbine much in the last few years because I've been shooting .45 Colt guns in CAS matches. But writing the article inspired me to get the .44-40 out for a range session.

D Rat, since the SHOT Show I've been buried with orders for magazine articles, and I have also picked up some contracts to do five videos for Personal Defense World's web site. I've been working six and seven days a week on contracted stuff throughout February and March, so I haven't had time to get back to the rifle...but I will. I've usually got at least one deadline to hit each week, usually two, all through February, March and April. Then it spreads out a little better...unless new contracts roll in...
I also picked up a contract to build a flintlock pistol in May, and write about it for Combat Handguns magazine (if you can believe it), so I'll video that process for YouTube. But it will be a couple of weeks before I have a few days to get back to the flintlock rifle kit.

Must suck to have all these people lining up to pay you to shoot stuff. :D
