Here is my situation. Have a Rem. 700BDL in .22-250 and a new CZ American 455 with .22LR and .17HMR bbls. and want new scopes for both. I decided on a Nikon Buckmaster 4.5-14x40 BDC for the Remmy and a Vortex XfireII in
6-18x44AO for the CZ. The Nikon fit the Remmy perfectly but the rings available for the CZ weren't tall enough to allow the 44mm bell to clear the barrel. I've searched for CZ high rings without success, tried some see-through Weavers but for some reason the scope wouldn't mount solid enough on the 11mm dovetail ramps to properly zero the rifle. I since have switched the scopes and they fit each different rifle--but the reticles are not exactly what I wanted for the usage of each gun? Oh, we'll I should be happy with a good plan gone awry! When the gun/buying availability madness normalizes then I may find the high rings I want and switch the scopes back to their intended guns.

Mach1.3;

Go to Talley rings. If they don't have what you need in the catalog, they'll make it for you. If that's the case, you do have to call & discuss it with them, but that's not hard their number is on their website.

I have "some" CZ rimfire guns. They all wear Talley's, and I expect that to remain the case if I should happen to find another one has followed me home.

I have a brand new CZ 455 three bbl combo sitting in my rimfire safe, waiting for me to decide on glass and rings. Read this thread, and that got me researching Talley's...got a set of Highs on the way!

Thanks, CB900F - I have a Redfield Revolution I'm going to try. If that doesn't work out, I'll buy a Leupold.

Fella's;

Glad I could help. CZ's are oddballs with their ring requirements. Not all 452's take the same rings. The Americans are drilled & tapped & there the Talley's are screwed on, but other models are dovetail only. The dovetails are metric, and nothing but bases machined properly are going to work right.

Now I'm not familiar with the newer 455's & I'd hope that CZ just decided to D&T all those recievers & make it easy on everybody.
