Thoughts on trading some of my .223 for his FBI 10mm?

A fella has 10mm "FBI" Federal 180 grainers - all factory loads and wants some of my Radway .223 or some Lake City.

What are the thoughts out there on the conversion - round for round in a trade these days regardless of my particular needs for either round.

He needs the .223 and doesn't want the 10 where I only want the 10mm but will never shoot the volume in 10 that I do in .223.

So, I'm thinkin' more 10 to each .223... 2/1, 3/1, more?

Each round of both cartridges goes bang just once and both are effective for what they are designed. If I were being approached in a trade sort of situation, my ratio would be based strictly on cost per round with the eventual exchange not being a monetary advantage to either. Of course a person's need can alter that formula, but it's not my nature to initially expect anything other than an even, cost-based, swap.

I was once approached to take trade in .22LR for 9mm and the offer was 1:1. No way was I going to do that. I'm a good guy, but not that good. We agreed on an individual cost per round of each and then let that math determine quantities.

Weren't the FBI 10mm loads downloaded to a level that made bells go off at S&W that led to the .40S&W round?

Meaning, you may not be happy if you want full house 10mm ammo.

Thanks for the input fellas.
Yup wally, most of his is the later issue stuff that the .40 mimicked effectively in a smaller case though he does have some full-house loadings too that HRT and others were playing with in MP-10s.
Aside from shooting, a great deal of the appeal of the trade is the fired brass for my own loads later and justification for tracking down a S&W to go with the Delta GC.

.223 ammo costs at gun shows are all over the place, from around $.60 per round to $1.50 per round, all for reloaded 55 gr fmj.

10mm costs me about the same as .45acp to reload, so I'm not familiar with commercial 10mm costs.
