Who can tell me about the 22 TCM pistol caliber?

If a person has a 9mm 1911 can they buy a converesion kit to make it 22 TCM?

The caliber sounds awesome, especially if you're a reloader.

Here's a reasonably informative review. http://www.shotgunnews.com/2013/01/09/smallbore-slabsides-rock-island-armory-22-tcm-review/

I remember reading about this gun and its unique ammo a little while back. Sounded pretty interesting and I would be interested in it if they made a conversion kit with a new slide, barrel assembly, and magazine for single stack M1911's.

I think I remember seeing that it had to be a doublestack. Can't remember why, but in guessing feeding reasons.

Also last I checked dies were not available, but that was months ago so they may be now.

Edit: It appears Lee is now making dies. Good to know, I really want one of these if they perform like advertised.

Looks pretty neat to have a 9mm/22 tcm pistol all in one package. But I have a hard time imagining the 22 tcm being very economical to shoot... likely about the same as 9mm.

I would think the 22TCM would be very economical to shoot.

Make brass out of abundant 223 range pick up brass, cut to length then resize, load with inexpensive .224" bullets. I'd enjoy that as much as shooting them.

If you don't reload you're missing the boat and too dependent on others.
