Right now its a glock 30 for me. I’m thinking of getting something a little less thick. What’s your preference for comfort and concealment? I’m open to any manufacture and caliber.

Well, 99% of the time that I carry it's an S&W Model 042 snub.
When I do carry a semi-auto, it's normally my Kahr K9.
Not sure how flat that is in comparison to the Glock, though.

Get a good belt, a really good holster, and your options are limitless. I like Inside Waist Band Holsters and polymer gun, like a Steyr M40 or S40, however, glock is ok if you can live without a safety(I like a safety), Wilson KZ-45, XD, and maybe a Kel Tec. The problem with blued guns or stainless Sigs, is that they rust in any type of humidty or rain. I like Sigs, but they rust so fast, if I owned one it would only be as a range piece(boring) so thats why I say polymer.

Glock 19 for me.
Though I was recently referred to Comp-Tac, and am now in possession of a holster that will allow me to tote my Glock 21 concealed.

Smith and Wesson mod 340SC .357 mag in Uncle Mike's size 3 holster.
Whole rig (gun, ammo, and holster)weighs less than a pound.
Oh, and yes, I have fired .357 rounds through it and lived to tell about it. Sore hand? Yup!

A full-size 1911, a Kimber Custom. With a good belt and good leather it's able to be carried well and concealed comfortably.
I've also carried 4-inch Smith & Wesson K-Frames and a Ruger P95 at various times. Took me a while to learn that lesson about "a good belt and good leather," though! :)

Para-Ordnance C7-45
As thin a pistol as I have ever found excluding mouse guns.
8 rounds (7+1 of 45ACP), smoothest double actionI have found.
Frame mounted safety for thye times when you just stick it in your waistband sans holster, and go. Or IWB from Galco, covered by a T-Shirt.
Drawback, it is not cheap.

I’m thinking of getting something a little less thick.
Lucky for you, that means just about anything. :p
It's true, though. You have sooo many options available that are more concealable (thinner, at least) than a 30, that you just have to go out and play with stuff to find what you like. If the Glock floats your boat, a G36 would be a natural place to start looking.
My preference is 1911s (Kimber Compact, and lately an old 5" Springfield parts gun).

Walther P99 IWB. Either a Blade Tech Kydex or a leather holster from Graham's Custom Leather, "Falcon" model. I will be looking for a Kel tec P11 at the Gunshow this friday, though.

On the permit presently is my Glock 27 with night sights. Fine gun.
This year it'll be my Sig P239 in 40; I shoot it a little better than the Glocks.
I like having a revolver on the permit too; and this will be an enhanced Colt D.Sp. with super action job from Cylinder and Slide. Might get a shoulder holster, but have a pocket holster from Unlce Mke's -- same one as for the Glock 27 --- and am getting a Hume belt holster.
Bottom line: I trust the reliablity of the revoler; just keep it loaded with good hollow points, never worrrying about jams, stovepipes, etc; and for a semi-auto; get the best that works for you.

Some of the time: P99, OWB Holster, strong side under innocuous vest.
Occasionally: Kahr PM9 in belt slide holster under innocuous vest, or in front pocket holster with "Docker style pants".
