OptimusPrime March 26, 2013, 08:17 PM Let's see 'em!
This one was on my wish list for a little while; I just love the feel of the grips.
Nice and cheap, came with a couple boxes of ammo, I'm happy.

Grassman March 26, 2013, 08:23 PM Always wanted one. What'd ya give for it if you don't mind?
Yankee John March 26, 2013, 08:27 PM Here is my 1984 Bulgarian, with plenty of wear. I adore this pistol and will never sell it.
OptimusPrime March 26, 2013, 08:36 PM I don't mind. $275. I forgot to mention that it's East German made.
Keeterbird March 26, 2013, 10:51 PM East German for $275? How did you get out the door?

PabloJ March 27, 2013, 01:31 AM That is going rate in 'Ole' Dominion'. Last one I have seen was priced at $279. It came with white box and two twelve round magazines. Often when it comes to pricing the county of origin does not matter to a dealer. The one I have seen was 9x18 and made at old IZH state arms factory.
SharpsDressedMan March 27, 2013, 04:01 PM How about a KGB Kommemorative? http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m247/matquig/DSC06100.jpg
bigfatdave March 27, 2013, 04:09 PM I'm amazed that M2 carbine hasn't come through and showed everyone up yet.

OptimusPrime March 27, 2013, 06:57 PM East German for $275? How did you get out the door?
That's easy, I was armed! :)
jmace57 March 27, 2013, 10:23 PM Man, that is purty Erich. Tempts me to fix mine up.
Hurryin' Hoosier March 28, 2013, 05:01 PM I've currently got three Pistolet Makarovas - one "safe queen", one range gun, and one which I had Parkerized and use for pocket carry. I've also got a couple Berettas (and M9 and a Modello 1934), and a Smith & Wesson Model 637, and have owned a variety of other makes and models over the years. As far as I'm concerned, the Makarov beats all of them. :D
Hurryin' Hoosier March 28, 2013, 05:04 PM Man, that is purty Erich. Tempts me to fix mine up.
I would encourage anyone wanting to have their Makarov (or any other gun) refinished to contact: http://www.foglesgunsmithing.com/ Beautiful work, reasonable cost, fast turn-around.
Hurryin' Hoosier March 28, 2013, 05:08 PM Always wanted one. What'd ya give for it if you don't mind?
Careful. Pistolet Makarovas (be they Russian, Bulgarian, East German, or Chinese) are highly addictive. You'll become a "Makarovnik" before you know it! ;)
Erich March 29, 2013, 12:58 AM Thanks, jmace57 - nice of you to say. :)
Stringfellow March 29, 2013, 03:04 AM Man, that is purty Erich.
Yes Erick--beautiful pistol! In fact, I had saved that top pic of yours a few years ago as my absolute standard for Makarovs! Good work!

Definitely a favorite. What's not to love about the simplicity?
TennJed March 29, 2013, 11:36 PM I love my Russian commercial 380. I really really want one in stainless
TimboKhan March 29, 2013, 11:39 PM I also am amazed no M2carbine yet. That guy has a sweet Mak collection.
Erich March 30, 2013, 10:12 AM Shucks, Stringfellow: what a nice thing to say. Thanks! :)
M2 Carbine March 30, 2013, 10:25 AM I have to redo the picture. I've bought several more. :)

OptimusPrime March 30, 2013, 10:41 AM There you are M2, we've been waiting. Beautiful pieces there. However, for sheer volume I think TripleL wins. What was that, a buy-back in Warsaw?
TripleL March 30, 2013, 03:37 PM Estonia, I think, and they were to be crushed with some Toks. Can't remember the original poster either.
PabloJ March 30, 2013, 03:58 PM Estonia, I think, and they were to be crushed with some Toks. Can't remember the original poster either.
What was truly heart-breaking there were small number of 1911A1s among those.:(
