I bought some plated 158gr FP bullets from a local store. They were bulk packed and the salesman didn't know what brand they were. Can anyone identify this bullet?

They appear to have a slight cannelure so can I assume a slight roll crimp will be ok with these?

Thanks

Humm, I can't say I have ever seen a plated bullet in 38 cal. with a cannelure, all I shoot is Berry's. It would be nice as sometimes I get bullet setback in my 357 mags. Ya, a slight roll crimp in the cannelure would be fine.

I think it is X-Treme bullet.

Here's a picture of X-Treme .38 158 gr RN bullet with cannulare - http://store.affordablebrassandbullets.com/catalog/product/5799af16ec14f87aec7edceab7217f06

From the picture provided, that bullet almost looks like an FMJ. There were no markings on the bag/container?

Bag says 38/357 158gr FP. They appear plated to me. Bought 3 bags of 100 for $13.99 each.

The price certainly indicates plated. It costs a little more than buying bulk but it's certainly acceptable. I'm surprised there isn't at least a manufacturer on there though.

Look at Extreme's website from Carson City, Nevada. That looks right to me. Good bullet.

Yep - i'd have to agree it looks spot on like an Extreme plated bullet after looking at their website. Super happy with my find at the LGS. Thanks for all of the help to everyone.

Could be Extreme, could be HSM (hunting shack), could be delta precision...
Could be lotsa unknown brand names.

Sorry, I know that isn't much help.

Thanks, they could be HSM too after looking at their website. Anyways - definitely plated and with a cannelure and i'm going to load them with 5.0 - 5.2gr of Unique and see how they shoot.
