One volume for each day of the auction, approximately 900 lots per volume. Normally we sell these catalogs for $60 per set. The link to your site appears to be broken.

Edit- yeah, works for me now.

April 1, 2013, 04:15 PM
The link worked for me, and I actually placed an order. But I'm bothered by the way it worked, and would caution anyone thinking of doing the same. You are instructed to order a catalog, which is normally $60, and then enter a promo code. This is supposed to get it for $10. But once you place the order, you just get a "thank you." You do not get any kind of information, such as a receipt or invoice, on what it is you just ordered, or will be receiving. NOT NICE. I did get a confirmation email, but it is just generic, and says nothing about the special promotion. I will be watching my credit card charges carefully.

April 1, 2013, 04:50 PM
I understand your will not be charged anymore than the $10 for the shipping. If you prefer to call and speak with a person and place the order that works too. Tell them the code ARTFA

These are a great resource for collectors and anyone interested in historical firearms.

Getting one of the catalogues for just the shipping price is a good deal!

April 1, 2013, 05:39 PM
I ordered one, just to have it as a resource. Great deal and thanks.

They sure ought to be nice. I've been checking out the web site being advertised and, well, there some nice stuff listed.

April 1, 2013, 05:45 PM
Ohhh, I'm familiar with RIA and the pictures alone on their website can gobble up an otherwise productive afternoon. They do a very very nice job and the catalogue makes a great "coffee table" book to drool over.

April 1, 2013, 05:53 PM
I ordered it, not sure why.... Must be because it was only $10.00 :D

April 3, 2013, 06:22 PM
FYI...we are getting close to the end of the extra catalogs. If you want a set you better do it in the next day or two. Most likely by the weekend the free offer will be over.

I just ordered a set. This is a super deal! The "catalogs" are much more then that. Buying reference books to cover the same information with quality photographs could easily run well over $100.00.... :what:

April 3, 2013, 09:17 PM
Eye candy!

April 4, 2013, 08:00 AM
Oh boy, new reading material, I can't wait. Thanks.

Just placed my order also. Lookin forward to it.

Just ordered mine. !0.00 for shipping only for a great catalog and resource is very fair!

April 4, 2013, 11:59 AM
Heads up, I didn't have an account on the auction site. Attempted to create one and order the catalog, told me the promo number was not correct. Called customer service and they fixed it. Thanks!

I called this morning. She wanted to know which credit card I would use for this FREE catalogue, $10 shipping fee. I said NO THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!

Question: How do you propose they collect the $10.00 shipping/handling fee during what is going to be a very short time offer?

Also I'm sure that with an account opened, they hope you might decide to bid on one or more lots.

Anyway I'm sure that they will have no problem disposing of surplus catalogs at the offered price. If you question the honesty of those making the offer, use your favorite search engine with a search term, "Rock Island Auctions" Also notice they are advertising on THR.

Hi Lex,

What gives? You had to pay $10. She tried to get me to pay $10, I refused, BUT many on here said they got theirs for free.
Maybe there's a 'secret handshake' we don't know about? Got to wonder about a company that only RANDOMLY charges.

April 5, 2013, 01:17 AM

Even McDonalds can't get good help that knows how to count change anymore?

Just ordered mine hope got in in time,

Guessing English isn't your first language, all you have to do is read the original post:

We do require you pay $10 for the ship charge (USA) and $25 (Non USA). In most cases we will ship to you FedEx.

Everyone is paying the $10 shipping and the catalogs are free, sorry you're having such a hard time understanding that.

Just ordered mine hope got in in time,

Oh boy, me too! I made a bone head move and didnt look at the date of the OP...

Oh well... Fingers are crossed!!

April 5, 2013, 09:26 AM
Got mine yesterday, I don't think I can afford anything in it! Sure are a lot of pretty guns though

I suppose that some folks would be happier if they charged $10.00 for a set of catalogs that usually go for $60.00, and sweetened the deal with free shipping.

Frankly, this is (or maybe was by now) a super deal any way you cut it. What you get is a set of top quality reference books that are informative under any circumstances; and might get you a major windfall if you happened to spot a sleeper at some pawnshop, retailer's shop or gun show. When it comes to making bucks you can't know too much, but you can lose out by knowing too little. Over the years more then one member has reported something they bought and discovered it was worth much more then they (and the seller) thought it was.

We are very fortunate that they picked The High Road to make this offer.

April 5, 2013, 03:07 PM
Seems to be some confusion here and there on this offer to a few folks. We are not trying to hide the fact that we are charging for shipping.

The original post and the link that has more information has stayed the same. There is a $10 fee to everyone that covers the shipping charge. Actually in many cases that does not cover the ship charge. If you have not seen a set of these before they are 3 volumes, spiral bound very high quality. Its like shipping 3 phone books for a large city. Massive amounts of work go into the production of these catalogs. Just the photography alone, over 6,000 photos.

For those that do not want to get a set but are interested in the highlight pieces in this auction you can view our flyer online with this link. (

For those of you who did take advantage of this offer there is more coming your way on top of the catalogs. After the auction we will send you free of charge a copy of the prices realized at auction. That way you can compare the price estimates to the price realized at auction. PLUS...we send everyone in our database a free copy of our 16 page full color flyer every auction.

By the way....if you see a gun or two in the catalog and feel like placing a bid. Its very easy to do. Remember the price estimates are just that, and estimated value placed on each item. Bid what its worth to you! Some will go below the low est. some will go above the high est. Every auction there is a few bargains to be had!

One last thing....I just checked and we have a few left. The offer will be over this weekend as we are getting low now. You will know when the offer is over the code will no longer work.

We just posted our latest blog story Viva La France, last weeks was Call of Duty, and Size Matters before that. ( you want to read any stories we write about out items in the April Sale.

You guys have a great forum here, I personally read many of the post. Have a great weekend. Do not hesitate to call us if you need assistance.

I just tried to order by phone & was told they are out.
That was a nice offer. Just saw it too late.

April 5, 2013, 06:30 PM
Completely agree with Old Fuff as we were extremely lucky that RIA offered us such a great deal. Ordered a set this morning and will be waiting for the auction.

Thank you Dano223 and RIA.

April 5, 2013, 11:39 PM
I got home today and my catalogs were waiting for me. WOW. Just amazing references.

April 6, 2013, 03:27 AM
Got my set on Thursday. Looks great, very impressed. Well worth the $10

Just have a commit on Terms and Conditions section. Under paragraph 16 Class 3. It says individuals are not allowed to own machine guns in Michigan. This is incorrect and was changed a few years ago.

Thank you very much for doing this. I can't wait to see it!!

I received mine yesterday. What beautiful catalog, and resource for any firearms enthusiast. Sure to be something to peruse on those rainy days, and share with friends.
Thank you RIA!

April 9, 2013, 04:52 PM
Mine arrived today. So many exquisite firearms in full color and with lots of useful info.
Catalogs are worth way more than the ten dollars I got them for and for just the reference and eye candy value alone.
Thank you very much Dano223.

My set arrived this morning. As expected the material contained within these 3 books is exceptional, and covers everything from medieval armor to current firearms. There is literally something for everyone, regardless of what their interests might be.

Unfortunately not everyone was fortunate enough to be able to take advantage of this outstanding offer. However they still have the option of going to the auction house website and viewing what is there. I highly recommend that everyone who is interested do so.

April 10, 2013, 12:57 AM
My catalogs arrived this afternoon, great catalogs too, unfortunately they will probably cost much more than the $10 as I will bid on a few of lots. Thanks RIA.

April 10, 2013, 02:03 AM
Received mine yesterday. Wow, the most incredible gun porn I have ever seen. Thanks to THR and RIA for setting us up. I can't afford anything at the auction right now but what a great research tool. Just fun to look through and honestly, still a good value for $60.00.

April 10, 2013, 07:28 AM
I received mine. They're even nicer than I imagined. Thanks.

I had to lock them up to keep people from borrowing them. :)

April 10, 2013, 06:08 PM
Wow. Just got mine today. Stunning. It will take a lifetime to get through them all.

Thank you very much Dan.

Mine arrived today, in fact less then 30minutes ago by fed ex.
They are absolutely AMAZING,
Thank you for allowing us here at THR this unique opportunity.

After the auction you will be mailed a copy of the prices realized too!

Has anyone received their copy of the prices realized list?

No, but be aware that it might be delayed because they went to the NRA Convention and set up an exhibit. After the auction they first have to make arrangements to get the various lots into the hands of the winners. Lots of packing and shipping to do.
