My girlfriend bought me a venture in 6.5x55 for my birthday. I've been doing some research trying to figure out the twist rate. The only source i could find said 1 in 10, would this stabilize the heavier 140gr and up .264 bullets. I also wanted to hear from folks that own a venture what kind of accuracy should I expect.

I believe they just released it in the united states this year.

Still don't see them on their website, but I knew they made them. I have seen videos of people in Europe shooting them. Those had open sights as well.

I wish they would bring the Icon out in 6.5x55...I wish I could find an Icon even on the shelf at the LGS

Sweet. They make it in .280 as well.
It's nice to see a budget friendly rifle in these not so common calibers.
The 6.5x55 is a dandy. It should go over well.

As far as what kind of accuracy you should expect I believe they guarantee MOA out of the box.

1-10 twist seems way too slow.

1-7.5 seems to be prefered

CZ uses a 1-9 and people complain it is too slow

Mine has the open sights to. She looked all over for a CZ 550 but no one had any in stock the ventures the only 6.5 my LGS could get.

http://www.tcarms.com/firearms/chart_encore.php

That chart says they use a 1-8 for their Encore barrel in all of their 6.5 caliers. I can't believe they would change it for the venture. Try the tape on a cleaning rod method to try and measure the twist.
