Hello everyone,
I just recently purchased a Savage 10FP-LE1 (friday infact). And I am looking for a scope that will really make good use of this weapon. Something that will really allow me to "unlock" its full potential, if you know what I mean. I have been looking a little bit here and there for a scope but havent really found anything that "seems perfect" (granted I know that is more of a personal oppion) It is the .308 version, not the .223. I would like to get a scope with atleast a 50mm obj, and a 30mm tube (but those are not requirements, just something that I would like) Well now that you have read my incoherant ramblings, I am hoping that I can get all yalls suggestions as to what I should look into purchasing, thank your for you time and patience. Any suggestions will be greatly appriciated.

Springfeild Armory 3rd gen. Govermant model, calibrated just for the good ol .308
I have one on top of my remmy 700 milspec, I love the built in rangfinding,
once you get it zeroed you are good to go, boom boom, tally up the score
It has 30 mm tube, 56 mm obj. , you might have to get the super high rings as I did, also you might want to consider the Burris one piece base too.
Just my 30 cent worth, good shooting and enjoy sounds like you just might have a bang of a rifle there.

Springfield Armory scopes have a bad reputation of poor tracking and holding zero.
Obviously, you should look into Leupold. They have such a wide variety of high quality scopes that you can't overlook.
The Super Sniper scopes via Riflescopes.com/SWFA is a good buy at $300. You can get a 10x, 16x, or 20x fixed mildot scope with a 30mm tube and 42mm objective for $300. Early models have had some issues, but the current production appears to be solid.
I personally have the Bushnell Elite 3200 10x fixed mildot on my Savage 10FP (Burris Signature Zee Rings and Ken Farrell base). I've had zero problems with the Bushnell, but I haven't really tested it's limits (300+ yard shooting).
If you have money to spend, look into the Nightforce line of scopes.

That is to each there own on the SA bad rep. , I have read bad reps and good one on these, I have had not one problem holding zero, or indexing, I shoot either 168 grn or 175 match ammo, and not had to rezero.
Lifetime warranty, sometimes things go bad, sometimes not so good quality controll, but that happens in everything made.
with that said, I think I will head out and shoot some more

Also the SA scopes have that weird recticle, made for the M14 with what looked like the front sight right at the bottom of the scope.

That is a level bubble, so you can make sure the rifle isn't canted.
and also range finding built in, without any guess work once you have it zeroed
