I have over 10 thousand 9mm lrn at 124 grain .355 diameter. I am wanting to load these to fire in my .380. The largest listings I have in my 4 manuals are up to 115 grain in lead. Is it possible to do so safetly? I was thinking maybe 2.5-3.0 grain of 231 or Power Pistol. I know you guys will keep me stright. John

Lyman #49 lists data for a 120 LRN.
It would be a 124 after lube is added to the grease grooves.

OAL = .980".

W-231 loads
2.1 Start.
3.2 MAX.

The problem you may run into is the long bullet bulges the brass at the base so they won't fit the chamber.

But I suppose it's worth a try.

I top out at 100 grn bullets for the 380, then the 90 grn Speer GD. I'd try to get bullets 100 grn or below for the 380. Win 231 gets high marks for 380 loads.

I've loaded and fired some 115-gr ball in .380, but was not overly impressed with how they shot. I stick to the 90-100 grain range.

I would suggest trading some of those 9mm slugs for some decent .380 slugs. I don't think you would have a huge problem doing so.

Im having a hard time finding 380 of anykind. I just thought it would be worth trying. I bought all kinds of components that I will never use. It would be nice to have some place to trade them off. Thanks for the help. I will just to purchace them when they become available.
