It would have been nice if the webmaster had put the NAV bar on top of the page. When you go onto the site if you don't scroll down to the bottom you think the whole site is under construction. Also, site is really slow to load but I guess it's better than having no Marlin board at all.

Just wondering: I ordered, and then rejected, an 1894 SS in .44 mag because of marks (scratches) on a number places on the action and very disappointing wood. My dealer told me that was to be expected in a new gun. I didn't, and don't, believe him. Reason I ask is what would Marlin do if I bought the gun afterall and returned it to them? (My dealer says his distributor won't take it back, so he still has it.)

tbige: I also recently purchased an 1894 (in .357 mag) and there was a scrape on the receiver and the wood was also, to use your word, "disappointing". Guess they are rolling them out of the factory with less QC than before. I didn't beef mine because I failed to check it before I picked it up and because I got a very good price on it. Plus, it will be a plinker only.

My 1894C which I bought last year is very nice in fit and finish, so the problem is inconsistent.

The 1894C I bought last year is about the cutest rifle I've ever seen. Shoots like a dream, too.
