I think this is pretty big news and could be a positive one at that. A firearms company that makes Colt AR-15 rifles is moving to Breckenridge Texas. The CEO of Colt is to have said "here will soon be few good answers to keep his company in the state" (Connecticut).

Of course this comes on the heels of reports that Magpul is leaving Colorado, along with two other companies, HiViz Shooting Systems and The Outdoor Channel. http://www.republicbroadcasting.org/index.php?cmd=news.article&articleID=5058

And also a report that Beretta may leave Maryland

These moves can be a positive thing as it sends a powerful message. Lets hope other companies follow suit and move to more gun friendly states.

I have a feeling that the "message" won't be felt for a couple years but when it's felt, it will hit like a ton of bricks.

It's akin to when Kodak (essentially) went out of business* in Rochester, NY.

It takes a couple years, but there's a ripple effect. Surrounding restaurants that catered mainly to the lunch and happy-hour crowds close. Next, you start losing the copy-shops and small contract-carrier offices (Pak-mails). Then you lose pay-to-park lots and such. Kodak Park (for those that know what it is/was) is desolate. I suspect the same will happen around the Beretta plant.

*I realize that Kodak is technically still "in business" but it's a shadow of what it was in the 1980s.

Umm, this isn't the main Colt Arms. This is a different company guys (Bold Ideas, dba Colt Competition). Related sure. Same, negatory.

The Oregon company known as Bold Ideas (Colt Competition) makes uber accurate AR rifles for Colt?

They are moving from Oregon to Texas. Why?

While I feel bad for the people working for the companies that are moving, I'm hoping the states see that money talks. Maybe the companies that are moving will do the right thing and offer these people a job if they move along with the company.

As for moving to Texas? YEEHAW, we need some more good paying jobs here

The governors and other campaigners for gun bans simply don't give a damn. They think they are morally right and that the rest of us are simple minded rednecks who should be charged with treason for defying the will of the extremist "progressives". If their state loses jobs or tax money, that is fine as long as they achieve their ultimate goal of total civilian disarmament and the elimination of anyone who defies them.

Nor do they really give a damn about murder victims; dead children are just another means to the end of eliminating guns and gun owners and concentrating all power in the police and military under their control.

Wait till you get the news from this administration someday that because of all these states losing money, we the taxpayers will have to bail them out when they go bankrupt. These states are too big to fail. Then the 'liberal' will really hit the fan.

They will be quick to use the "Cyprus solution." Just confiscate 40% of our savings overnight!
Re-distribution of wealth, re-location of anyone who can think for themselves!

No, they will just borrow more money from China (with U.S. officials getting a "commission") creating more inflation and putting the country deeper in debt to an enemy nation. Some people worry about the power of the Chinese military - no need. The Chinese don't plan to make war on us; they will just foreclose and send a bankruptcy commission to take over their new province, formerly the U.S. And someone we know will take his billions to Africa to establish his own country.

This will indeed be the tipping point. When there are more people riding in the boat than rowing.
