Have not fired it yet, but from reports from other who have and the Trijicon that was on my shotgun mounted here....it should be fun.

Well, now that is a bit different. Does Smith' offer the M&P in that arrangement from the factory or is this custom work you had done?

The slide is cut from the factory and accepts about 6 different red dot site bases.

That's pretty interesting as I like that the slide has already been modified at the factory and doesn't require any additional gunsmithing to make it work out of the box.

I've got a good friend with a Glock and RMR. He loves it, but I had a hard time with it. I felt like I really had to hold the muzzle down to see the dot. I'm a 1911 guy, so maybe that had something to do with it...

Nonetheless, it's a cool find!

The elevated sights for co-witness are interesting.

I've tried micro red dots on pistols, didn't find them especially useful. I prefer a simple large dot front sight. I don't pay attention to the rear sight unless I'm shooting for accuracy anyway, so for me, the benefit of a RDS on a handgun is not what it is with a rifle. And it makes holsters challenging.

A colleague has the FNP-45 (the "Tactical" version  ) with a threaded barrel, raised sights, and a cutout for the RDS.

I think those three features raise the MSRP from FN by 66%. :scrutiny:

How much of a premium did you pay over a "regular" M&P?
