Good belt for suits?

April 10, 2013, 06:41 PM
I'll be rocking a S&W 6904 in an IWB holster. My job requires a suit every day, so I need this to be a "dress belt." Ideally would like it to be reversible black and brown, but I'm not sure if they make gun belts like that. If not I would need one of each color of course. Budget is $100 total for both belts. That could be brought up a bit if I knew I was buying something that will last a lifetime.

A lot of members really rave about Beltman's products:

Yes, they are a little bit above your price range, but (while "last a lifetime" is an overused phrase) you're unlikely to be tossing them out more than once a decade.

Plus, you can specify an internal stiffener which is nice if you have to wear clothes that require those dainty little 1-1/4" belts.

X3 on the Beltman belts. Really work good especially if you carry a heavy gun. I carry my 1911 no problem where I had issues with lighter guns on other belts. definitely worth the price

Bump it up. There are few if any belts "dressy" enough for suit wear and can carry a gun for that.

Here is a belt that might meet your needs, MSRP starting at $54: I'm very pleased with my Beltman belt, which was ~$70 at the time.

The Beltman and

A&G Custom Leather

have very good reputations. However, they really don't look like "suit belts" to me. They look a little more casual than that. I think $50 is pretty low for most any good gun belt, and for a fancy "suit belt", I'd think you certainly would have to go higher.

Have a B-22 in both brown and black, like them a lot. And it's within your budget.

Thanks for all the suggestions. It doesn't need to be too fancy, just passable in a suit. I don't think my current belt looks any nice than that Don Hume one. That looks like the ticket to me, but going to check out Beltman too.

I think I am going to try the black one from Don Hume, and a brown one from Beltman.

Thanks for all the help guys.

i just got one from Blade Tech. it was the double ply looper belt. i wear a suit basically 6 days a week and i find it to be quite awesome. it doesn't really look like a gun belt from the naked eye. I purchased one in brown and seriously it is fantastic.

If you ever want to splurge and go really dressy, the Milt Sparks sharkskin belts are VERY nice:

I like the Loopers too. I think I might get one of each in different colors honestly.
