What Gun Shows in Oregon & Idaho are worth going to?

I'm asking primaraly out of curiosity, but it's probably a good idea to find out in advance which ones to steer clear of...:)

I'm prejudiced, of course, but I like the Albany Rifle & Pistol Club (ARPC) gun shows which are produced semi-anually at ... of course, Albany, Oregon.

There's no more than one table, usually, which offers jerky. One for substances which allow you to see through your range-glasses without fog. A good dozen tables offering books, several offering M1 parts (and other gun parts) and the rest either want to seel you range bags or guns.

Guns, guns, guns.

Ain't that what it's all about.

Oh, BTW, there are usually a few tables which show you what you can expect in Discipline competition at ARPC.

NO, not B&D; but Full-auto, IPSC, Cowboy, HI-Power, Bullseye, etc.

I like the Albany gun-shows. I've even set up and worked tables for my prefered sport ... IPSC.

No IDPA, so far.

For sheer size, the Rose City gun show at the Portland Expo center (just off I-5 north of Portland) is the show to attend. Be prepared to pay for parking, and with admission you will be out almost $15 just to get in the door.

All firearms sales must use NICS and BATF paper work, as private sales are no longer allowed at organized gun shows in Oregon. :(

I don't attend any more, but it is a big show.

Yes, the Rose City gun show is VERY BIG... (and I got a great deal on a Kimber Gold Match there.. :D ). Frankly I haven't found many decent ones besides that one, though.

Jerry: Are you a member of the Albany Rifle & Pistol Club? What do you think about it? Their range looks very nice, and it's close to where I am stuck here in Corvallis. The membership costs are kinda steep for a lowly college guy, though.

I'm becoming increasingly impressed with the Albany/Philomath/Roseburg shows.

This is because one sees a lot more tables run by individuals. Lotsa ammo and reloading componants.....and stuff you just don't see every day. Think you have a better chance at making that "once in a lifetime" buy at these shows than ....say....the one in Eugene. Can't speak of the Portland show.

I avoid Portland whenever possible. :D
