What can I do with not reloadable 50 bmg brass?

I have a metric --- ton of 50 brass for sale, and as I am going through it I see that some of it is not reloadable for whatever reason (too many dents, smashed necks, whatever). What options do I have with this brass besides just tossing it in the ever-growing recycling pile?

Hmmm, I like your style. What do you think is reasonable to charge? Thanks for the post.

Maybe try gunbroker too. If you paid for them, start at 20 cents a piece. If they were free, start at 10cents. A lot of people will just put the brass on a shelf and show it off too. Just make sure to clearly state it is military brass and not in the best shape--I'd hate for someone to bust a deprimer on those crimped primers.

I think guys might have been cutting them down for custom bolt action slug guns. I'm trying to remember the name of the thread. I'm sure they would buy them.

Take it to the local recycling center, turn it in and use the money for some beer, other reloading supplies, beer, ammo that you need, tequila...

fill them with concrete and use them for trotline weights.

Moonpie: Wind-chimes? Nice! Maybe I should clean and polish them first. LOL

Frankenstein409: That is kinda what I was looking for. I was thinking, along the lines of, what could they be cut down into to be reloaded or for some other firearm related use.

50 Shooter: That does seem like the easiest idea and it is hard to say no to "free" beer. I will have to google the going rate for bulk brass.

I like the 50BMG beer can openers.

3/8-16 tpi tap in the primer pocket with a seated bullet makes for a nice tap handle that sells for $15 on eBay. I've sold untold thousands.

BluEyes: Now that you mention it, there will be at least one can-opener.

I don't know...for the price of what .50 BMG rounds are going for each, I'll bet you could STILL sell them...at a reduced price...

MK75,
Post a couple pics of the ones you think are bad, a small dent in the body or a neck that's bent can sometimes be fixed. The sizing die will fix the neck if its not flat or cracked. Body dents depending on how bad will be blown out when fired the next time.

Considering the value of scrap brass is over $2 a pound it should only take a few .50 BMG cases to get a lb. Weigh youf brass and find your base price. You can find current scrap prices using Google. For non scrap use the typical retail price is 2 to 3 X base value. Do the math and that will give you a asking price. Negotiate down from there if you don't get any buyers. No reason to sell below scrap price unless you like giving money away. If you do there's lots of folks willing to take you up on that deal.
