I'm thinking of getting a .22 long rifle made. I want to get a bolt action or a lever action made that has both iron sights and the scope mounts. there are some other specifications I would like to see if they are possible, but I don't know where to go. I have been searching the web but no real luck of who makes guns or has the best deal on guns and can do the blacksmithing to customize the gun the way I want it. any favorites are welcomed, give me a site or a business name and I can take it from there.

Blacksmith? You mean gunsmith? I don't know if anyone on this earth can hammer you out a gun from iron in a forge that you could use to fire and cycle modern .22 LR. Now if you want a custom .22 rifle made for like competition or something I'm sure there are tons of people who can do it. One of them is you! Most modern guns you can buy in .22 LR have provisions for scope mounting and iron sights.

How about some custom gunsmithing on an existing design? http://www.grizzlycustom.com/custom_lever_action_rifle_backpacker_lite_scout.html

Blacksmith? You mean gunsmith?

Yeah, that was my first thought as well.

I think you need some intrathecal simethicone, because you just had a brainfart.

Depending on the level of work and finish you're after, there would be quite a few choices. I would try to find a smith in your area that has some recommendations behind him. Nothing beats a point and grunt session vs a phone call or email exchange for designing a rifle, IMO.

You are aware that all lever-actions, and most bolt-action .22's come with open sights already mounted?

And most all modern .22's also have a 3/8" grooved receiver right from the factory to mount a scope on it?

You don't need a blacksmith to do it.
You just need a screwdriver & a scope with 3/8" tip-off rings..

Maybe boyscout wants a custom damascus bayonet for the rifle.
