Kimber 84m Select Grade .308 Win is shooting excellent. Proud of my 6-pound skinny barrelled deer rifle.

200 yards, .75" group (.375 MOA), 150 grain Sierra Pro Hunter, 43.2 grains of IMR3031. It wears a Leupold VX3 2.5-8x36 scope.

Same load at 300 yards. Target was not quite level and the wind pushed it left a bit too.

BluegrassDan, excellent results there. I have a couple of Kimber rifles and couldn't be happier with them. I'm looking for an 84M Montana in .308 Win.

I am happy with my 8400 in 270WSM. Had to do a little out of the box tuning but now its the best one I have http://i1243.photobucket.com/albums/gg556/dvdcrr/IMAG0019_zps7eb71165.jpg

All I did was clean up the barrel channel a little and the trigger pull a little, and now she shoots very nice. I am thinking it is actually more accurate than my vanguard (7/8 MOA) I had this rifle sighted in 1" high at 220 yds. I took a mule deer buck with it, the performance of rifle and cartridge was impressive. Right before dark, broadside shot the bullet dropped at least 6" from a center shoulder hold, very steady shot. The range was not determined but I believe it was approx. 350 yds. Broke both shoulders and exited. 130 gr. SIE. Pro hunter, 64.5 gr RL19 (do your due diligence).
ETA: I really like a rifle and cartridge that I can zero to allow a dead on hold out to 400 yds. Maybe high on the side if it looks like 400 but no daylight between the crosshairs and top of back. I have had great success with 270wsm as well as 257 weatherby 100 gr factory spire point. I do value the extra power of the 270wsm for long shots over the 257 but to be honest at 300 yds the weatherby has never let me down. At close range however the weatherby is so fast I have blown up bullets and lost a deer. I also have had great results at 200 yds or less from an old open sighted k31. 7.5x55 swiss is a real thumper. I like the 165 gr. Hornady custom ammunition.

Dan I didn't know leupold made bases for the kimbers, do you think they would work for 8400 wsm? I am using Warne maxima bases and Leup. PRW rings. It's a good setup.

It's got Leupold low mounts. Not certain if they fit the 8400, but it's worth looking into.

Dude, I'd be proud too... Dang. I've found the ProHunters to be just excellent out of a 7x57, best accuracy and just about perfect on whitetails. Nothing wrong with flat base bullets for me.

Here is my 8400 in 300WSM, I am thinking the bases are marked Kimber(they are not scalloped) but the rings are Leupold.
