Help Identifying a Magazine

So, my local gun shop purchased a 'box o magazines' from a guy and have one magazine that they cannot figure out where it belongs! I was hoping some knowledgeable person here would have an idea. Unfortunately I didn't get a picture of it, though I know exactly what it looks like.

Facts:
9mm
Seems 'full size'
Completely metal mag, blued with a thin metal baseplate
15 round magazine
Looks identical to Beretta 92/CZ75/etc magazines, like this one: http://www.gunpartscorp.com/Products/219500.htm

The only difference is the part causing the confusion. INSTEAD of having the magazine-catch cutouts on the side like that one, it is actually a square cutout in the 'front' of the magazine (similar to the XD style). The shape of the magazine was NOT consistent with the XD (the XD has a round horseshoe front, this had a 'flat' front exactly like the CZ75/Beretta 92/etc).

So, anyone have an idea?

It isn't the Steyr, the magazine 'hole' is completely in the center, like the Ruger. I haven't been able to find any images of a 15 round Ruger magazine with a metal base plate however, so I wonder if it is that.

went through something like this and it turned out to be beretta 96 9mm mags I think? might be worth looking at, they had a few different dimples on them.
