Ok so I want to get a gun for Jon. He loves my dad's Ruger MkII slabside target model. I would love to get it for him. Which day would be best?

Is Today or tomorrow on the list?

I've given and received firearms for birthday presents.

Just once, I'd like a little box of 22lr ammunition for my birthday. I'm in my 30s and that hasn't happened yet.

Anyday is a good day!!!

Gifts that are given on a non-special day are even more special IMO. Shows that the person really cares.

I knew this would be a lopsided poll as soon as I saw the choices. :D

You expect a bunch of Gun guys to suggest you wait until Christmas?:what:

give ammo on christmas....
holsters/cleaning supplies on birthdays....
range membership on anniversaries....

guns should be given any day of the year.

My wife doesn't care which day she receives something! :D

She just expects something on those certain days no matter what!

And day that ends in 'y' is a good day to do so.

Actually it is more fun to give stuff away just because it is the third Tuesday of the month or the fifth Saturday since daylight savings time began or whatever. My wife & I give each other gifts like that throughout the year & try to avoid the "Hallmark Holidays" (valentine's day, sweetest day, mother/fathers day, etc (we do do Christmas however as that seems to be unavoidable  )).

The "just because I was thinking of you" gifts usually tend to mean more to the recipient than the "society says I have to get you a card & something else two weeks into Feb so here it is" type of present.

You gotta get devious girl!

Just spring it on him for no good reason, but don't let on anything. Let him think he's missing some special day:evil:

Wait till after he takes you out to dinner to tell him ;)

Does your Dad know that you're going to give away one of his guns? ;)

Gave one for Valentines day once ..

it was a Kel-Tec ..

it broke after 1 mag of ammo ..

relantionship ended about 2 months later ..

Moral: Don't give Kel-Tecs as Valentines Presents :D

EDIT: and btw .. I wasn't broken up about getting rid of either :D

Any day is good--any type of "gun junk" is a sure way to a shooter's heart. I buy my girl flowers, she buys me boxes of mini-mags.

I didn't see Friday one there. My grandmother bought this for me last Friday. :D

I give my girlfriend a Sig Sauer 232 for Valentine's day this year. Well, I must add that she is a reserve Swiss Army officer and works for the Police... I wouldn't advise giving a gun for Valentine's day to any sort of girl!

Anyday just for giggles Well, ''anyday'' anyways ... the giggles are optional! :D

I'm workin on Mrs P95 re getting her CCW and then like as not we'll go ''shopping'' ... otherwise it'd mean one of my ''family'' being selected! Not that that would matter ... just be a case of replacement!:p

''Say it with a firearm''.:) :)

Any day except Valentines Day or the dreaded Sweetest Day. :barf:

Greg L summed it up perfectly:
The "just because I was thinking of you" gifts usually tend to mean more to the recipient than the "society says I have to get you a card & something else two weeks into Feb so here it is" type of present.

My girlfriend and I don't do the Hallmark Holidays, but any other day is fair game. Getting a present when you don't expect it is the coolest! Especially if it's a gun!!

Definitely his birthday if it's within the next few months; otherwise just pick a day and give him a birthday present way early.
