Optics help

I recently purchased an MSAR STG-556 from another individual on THR and I'm now looking to get some optics for it.

I'm a college student on a budget, so I'm not looking at Eotechs or anything that high-end. Seems about $100 is where I'm comfortable. I know I'm not going to get the perfect sight for that, but I'm sure I could find something good enough for me.

I know I want some back up iron sights, and found these 45* offset sights (http://www.amazon.com/Front-Degree-Rapid-Transition-Backup/dp/B006X9DLQM/ref=cm_cmu_pg__header) for pretty cheap.

As far as actual optics though, I'm sort of torn. I like the idea of a reflex/dot sight, but would also like to be able to go longer distance without guessing exactly what I'm aiming at.
A friend recommended this Konus (http://www.creedmoorsports.com/shop/Konus-Sight-Pro-Atomic-Electronic-Dot-Sight.html) that seems promising, but then I came across a couple of UTG? scopes on Amazon. One is a 3-12x44 (http://www.amazon.com/UTG-3-12X44-Compact-Mil-dot-Colors/dp/B004KRA4YG/ref=pd_sim_sg_32), and the other is a 3-9x32 "CQB" (http://www.amazon.com/UTG-3-9x32-Compact-Picatinny-Sunshade/dp/B005UGIMNQ/ref=pd_sbs_sg_1). They both have pretty good reviews and both seem like they'd let me hit at least 100 yards with no real issues, but I was looking to see if anyone has had any experience with them on here? (Well, any experience with any of these sights, really.)

On this sort of rifle, could I get away with a scope on top for longer-range stuff and the BUIS off on the side for closer-range stuff?

Any input and advice would be greatly appreciated.
Zach

For backup irons those are probably fine, but I would spend 40 bucks more and get a quality 1-4 or 2-7x scope.

http://www.opticsplanet.com/burris-2x-7x-35mm-fullfield-ii-scopes.html. for example.

But I actually prefer the glass and controls on the sightron I just bought. I got a 4-12, but ,maybe one of these?
