Hi,
I got a new out the box 92fs about a year ago and have shot almost 500 rounds. All the normal wear marks that I read about online are there, ie scuff marks on the barrel as it makes contact with the slide where it passes through.
My question is there are what look to be almost semicircular scuff marks to the bottom left of the barrel on the breech face, by the feed ramp. But none to the right. What could be causing this or is it normal?

I would not be worried about that, personally. Dunno what's causing it... but I can barely see any wear. :)

This is just a guess, but it would appear that the face on the slide is not square with the barrel. Take a metal straight edge and check that the face is square. I too would be concerned, contact Beretta and see what they say.

Good luck and shoot straight.

I wouldn't worry too much about it.
From the pictures, it looks like the machining marks on the slide are just leaving an impression on the bbl face or it's just normal finishing marks.
Any chance it came from the factory this way and you are just now noticing it?

As long as it functions now, it's probably not going to get worse.

I just checked mine too. On the circle you've drawn, the upper portion of that on mine shows a little wear too. I'd guess I've got between 700-1500 rounds throgh mine. I'm not worried about it and I don't think you need to be either. If you're still concerned, contact Beretta.

Normal. This is a production pistol.

The barrel and breech face are never going to be perfectly squared up. It doesnt need to be, either.

Thanks for all the replys and info guys.
I guess the semicircular scuff marks to the bottom left are most likely machining marks.

Looks like normal wear to me. Metal parts mate together with use and that's all that is happening. If the gun is working then don't worry about it.

The 92FS has a good rep and going by the number of threads I've seen here on them lately, are just as popular as they've always been.
