Was hog hunting in Okla. last weekend with three pals..
Ground blind @ feeders in the evening, still hunting/"spot and stalk" during the day.
Two of my buds used rifles (both in .30-06), two of us used handguns.
Don L. was the national champion IHMSA shooter back in the late 80's and used a TC in 7mm/.08.
I was an IPSC and NRA Action Pistol competitor and used a "real" handgun(;)) S&W 625-6 "Mountain Gun" (.45 Colt) with 255 gr KTSWC's @ 1070 FPS.
I shot 3 hogs (largest was 300#'s), one shot each-with a "finisher" on one hog that was going nowhere.
It was observed that with decent shot placement (head, heart/lung) and at reasonable handgun range, the .45 Colt hit as hard and killed as quickly as the '06.
The shooting was fast and relatively close, as we were hunting in timber/cedar thickets.
It was a good time.

who says you need an AR with 90 round magazines to kill hogs! Great shooting and some nice looking hogs.

Huntershooter, Uncle Biden says, all you need is a double
Barrel shotgun, err ... Anyways, that is awesome. Next
On my list is to drop a hog with my G20.

Good job with the revolver!
I've been using a Ruger Flattop 357 loaded with cast 180gr WFN-GC bullet with enough H110 to get it up to 1370 fps out of the 4 3/4" barrel. That load will penetrate a 200 pound hog shoulder to shoulder and leave a nice exit wound. A good shot to the head or neck will drop the hog on the spot. The killing power of these flat nose handgun loads are very underrated.
