At 25 yds, my 9mm Combat Commander is shooting 4" high (when using a 6 o'clock hold). I want it to shoot to the same POA as my CCO.

sight radius X error distance

At 25 yds, my 9mm Combat Commander is shooting 4" high (when using a 6 o'clock hold).

5.75" (sight radius) x 4" (error) divided by 25yds (distance) = .92

Is it possible my existing front sight needs to be .92" higher?

The height of the current sight is .156.

Seems like adding .92 to that would make a 1.07 front sight extremely high.

What am I missing here?

thnx

5.75 x .0012x 4 (inches you want to move to p.o.a)= .0276

You can't mix your units together.

You can't figure the sight radius in inches then use yards (or miles or parsecs or kilometers, etc) for the distance to the target. Your units must be the same for each measurement.

Keep everything in inches.

5.75" times 4" divided by (25 times 36) = .026"

Your front sight needs to be 26 thousandths taller OR the rear sight needs to be 26 thousandths lower.

or, .0012 as a multi.

.0006 for 50 yds.

.0003 for 100 yds.

I concur... 0.026" is the additional height you need for the front sight.

or just file .026 off the top of the rear sight and call it a day ?P
