I have several hundred pounds of linotype bars and I no longer cast bullets. How much is it worth?

kgpcr, I wasn't even aware that linotype was still available. It used to be used extensively in printing presses. I do believe it is the hardest lead you can buy without placing tin into your lead.

I couldn't begin to tell ya how much it is worth though, the last time I got some was about 15 years ago, and if I remember right it was given to me from a friend that got it from an old printing press, and had no use for it.

I'm sure it's worth the going price of hard lead for casting bullets though, ya might check with Midway, Midsouth Shooting Supply, and perhaps Brownell's.

I have had it for 20yrs and it needs to go away. I am tired of moving it around and I have decided no more bullet casting. I just don't shoot that much anymore

well if ya are tired of tripping over it and were close enough I would take care of the problem and not charge you to fix the problem. I would even buy lunch...

Seriously I get alot of stuff because how much is the hassle worth? and I promise I will likely trip over it until I die or am forced to let it go... you could get years of enjoyment thinking about the curse you passed on :p

50 a pound? WOW
That's a GREAT price.
Don't expect to see that again.

$2.00/lb is a fair price.

Yep, the guy I've been buying lead and alloys from is very good.
I get wheel weights from him for the same price.
I need to stop in and visit with him again, last time I was there he said he thought he had some more linotype piled up somewhere.
Every time I'm there ends up an hour or two of BSing. :D
