I spent some time at the Trail Glades range today, sighting in (again) my Remington factory rifle sight slug barrel for the old Wingmaster.
Best accuracy came from Remington Foster Slugs. At 40 yards, I was getting clover leaf patters. At 75 yards, the groups spread out to 3 inches. Still not bad for iron sights, and old eyes.
The Winchesters were the worst for me, the Brenneke slugs came in second.
I fired 15 of each one today. Ouch!!!

Good on you, Mann. Remember that zero will shift if the barrel's dismounted.

To reduce the Ouch Factor when benching with slugs, add some weight to the weapon, use a wearable recoil pad like the PAST, and sit as upright as possible.

Good accuracy, BTW. Now go shoot some wild hogs....

My slug gun is an older 870 express with rem rifle sight barrel and it shoots about same as you describe. never found anything that outshoots the remington forsters in mine either. I was getting 3" groups at 75 yards so I swapped the barrel for one with the screw in rifled choke tube and still shot 3" groups.
