Any ideas? Has there been a problem with the server or ISP provider?

Thanks,
Steve

Yea, it's pretty slow for me right now and I have a lightning fast connection. Took about 15 seconds to load this reply box.

Following the last probs we had ... few weeks ago .. it has been flying! But sometime yesterday noticed it was getting sluggish and same today. The ''newreply'' window is very slow at loading and even bringing up new pages ... getting a post to ''take'' is slow too.

No idea why ... other sites seem about right.

Try it again. Is it slow right now?

(Things are quick from inside the firewall, and network utilization through the router is hovering below 50%. I've turned off all bandwidth limiting as that might have been affecting performance as well.)

WHOOPS.

Just checked a few traceroutes. Check this out:>tracert -d google.com

Tracing route to google.com [216.239.39.99]
over a maximum of 30 hops:

1 7 ms 10 ms 4 ms 66.80.73.49
2 87 ms 77 ms 85 ms 64.32.192.1
3 64 ms 81 ms 57 ms 66.80.129.1
4 75 ms 73 ms 84 ms 166.90.148.1
5 70 ms 70 ms 69 ms 166.90.148.174
6 195 ms 226 ms 46 ms 64.233.174.126
7 70 ms 112 ms 92 ms 216.239.48.90
8 77 ms 129 ms 49 ms 216.239.48.86
9 46 ms 67 ms 49 ms 216.239.47.50
10 71 ms 69 ms 75 ms 216.239.39.99

Trace complete. Not too bad. Ran it a second time:

>tracert -d google.com

Tracing route to google.com [216.239.39.99]
over a maximum of 30 hops:

1 9 ms 4 ms 7 ms 66.80.73.49
2 84 ms 76 ms 119 ms 64.32.192.1
3 67 ms 56 ms 80 ms 66.80.129.1
4 123 ms 114 ms 140 ms 166.90.148.1
5 246 ms 242 ms 116 ms 166.90.148.174
6 81 ms 90 ms 92 ms 64.233.174.126
7 66 ms 77 ms 84 ms 216.239.48.90
8 105 ms 107 ms 115 ms 216.239.47.46
9 110 ms 147 ms 156 ms 216.239.39.99

Trace complete. That's a little worse. Third time's the charm:

>tracert -d google.com

Tracing route to google.com [216.239.39.99]
over a maximum of 30 hops:

1 9 ms 4 ms 7 ms 66.80.73.49
2 322 ms 355 ms 309 ms 64.32.192.1
3 286 ms 326 ms 357 ms 66.80.129.1
4 374 ms 202 ms 239 ms 166.90.148.1
5 69 ms 132 ms 85 ms 166.90.148.174
6 91 ms 96 ms 84 ms 64.233.174.126
7 131 ms 309 ms 441 ms 216.239.48.90
8 209 ms 116 ms 84 ms 216.239.47.46
9 95 ms 76 ms 71 ms 216.239.39.99

Trace complete.Bingo! Looks like the problem is out there on the first few hops of the ISP's network. Last time this happened was a few weeks ago, before a DC backbone router mysteriously rebooted, taking access down for like 10 minutes,

We'll see if that's foreshadowing over the next 24 hours or so, I guess. :(

i'm seeing really long hangs (30 seconds) to load a forum like L&P

www.pbnation.com or www.automags.org loads 2 pages before THR loads 1

Working good now. Weird thing is, the last couple days, it was loading slow at my work computer, which is on DSL, and seemed normal on my home computer, which is dial-up (Earthlink).

Derek, it seems pretty zippy right now. Last night it was taking a long time (minutes in some cases) for a page to complete. Sometimes it would hang too long, so I would hit stop and refresh in which case the page would load in a few seconds. Almost like the old 'missing interrupt' problems of old.

Sounds like my ISP had some issues that they worked out, somehow.

Glad to hear it's working.

From my perspective (inside the firewall), it's been zippy the whole time. ;)

Still slow for me. Sometimes it works faster, but it is mainly going real slow.

Also, I can hardly even post in the "For Sale: Accessories" forum. It just sits and sits - is mainly timing out.

Thanks for checking into this.

The site is working much faster, now.

Thanks for the help. Great Site!
