Does that arrangement allow for loading directly into the chamber and then screwing the barrel on?

I don't know about that one, but the originals usually had a powder chamber in the breech which was smaller than the ball. The ball was seated on (not in) the breech, and the barrel screwed on. There was no patch. The advantage was more power as the bullet was groove size (like a modern bullet) since it did not have to be pushed down the barrel first.

yes this one is loaded by unscrewing the barrel, loading the chamber, putting the ball on top of the chamber then screwing the barrel back on

did another Queen Anne turn off barrel, forgive the less than stellar photography
