Cuz that's what most of my main guns are (AR-15s, Garands, M-1 Carbines, M1A). All of my bolt guns right now are .22lr's. Like them but use them mainly during better weather.

Ninety percent of my time is spent with bolts. The vast majority of my time with a rifle is spent hunting and I hunt more with a bolt action than my Semi's.

Different tools for different jobs. Kinda like asking what you use more, a hammer or screwdriver.

I guess if you consider a semi as a hammer it can be said that I'm out hammering on something an awful lot:D The bolt comes in handy for fine adjustments like reducing the amount of chucks and feral critters in the area

I hammer a lot more than I adjust he he he he

It all depends.
If I am target shooting and wanting to impress my friends, I'll shoot my M39 Finn B-barrel. It shoots a lot better than I can and I have no problems doing 2" groups sitting on the ground. On a bench rest, about 1" groups - that is with silver tip ammo.

Other than that, I spend time with each of my 25 rifles. I want to know how each fires (I keep a diary) and I want to be proficient in the take down and cleaning of each.

I really enjoy the semiautos (a garand, sks, hakim, and a Mak 90) but they don't compete in accuracy with some bolt guns.

Another factor: 40 rounds of Turk 8mm in a bolt mauser is probably equivalent to 200 rounds of 30-06 in a Garand in terms of what it does to a shoulder.

Shoot my autoloaders more than bolt guns simply because I enjoy rapid fire, preferably fully automatic rapid fire.

Bolts. I'm shooting a lot of .22 Benchrest e-mail matches when the snow isn't in the way, and using bolt rifles for the most part.

Three to four weeks out of the year, I get out a bolt gun to hunt with.

The rest of the year, I shoot my semis. (Well, occasionally, I will get out the No.4 MK1* and shoot it alongside the semis)

I find that I definately prefer bolt guns to semis. Semi autos have their place but I prefer the precision offered by a bolt gun. Not so much the rifles precision, but me, mentally, tend to blast through too many rounds with a semi. I take plenty of time with the bolt guns.

I'm sure I'm in the minority on this forum but I could happily live without any semi autos, esp those extra scary and dangerous all black ones. :D

I shoot semi's more due to the calibers my rifles. The two main semi's that I shoot are 10/22 and AR15, and ammo is cheap for both.

But, I alway take my 700 to the range with me on every trip and go through at least one box of ammo.

I'd say, I spend equal time on both. :D

i'm about 96% bolt, 3% lever, and 1% semi-auto.

while i have semi-autos, they just aren't as much fun to shoot because of the lack of accuracy.

I always have preferred an autoloader since I first started shooting. The only bolts I use now are heavy 375 caliber or above.

Probably about equal time on both. A little bit less on the bolt gun....it's getting darn expensive to shoot. Should probably invest in some reloading equipment one of these days.

Well, in terms of time, it's probably about 50-50. But in number of rounds fired, it's probably 70-30 in favor of the semis. Wanna guess which I'm more accurate with?:)

I spend nearly 95% of my time shooting semi's...

The other 5% of the time is spent with my only lever and bolt action rifles..

I simply enjoy shooting semi's more, that all..:D

I did spend more time with the simi's until I baught a custom Mauser with a heavy brl. and it is amazing to be able to shoot five through basically the same hole. WOW

Probably about 50 / 50 for centerfire.
Usually try to bring at least one of each to the range when I go.
When it comes to .22 rimfire probably 75 / 25 in favor of the bolt.

Easily the semi. Mostly due to cost. $100 goes a LOT farther on .223 than it does on .308!

My 4 Martinis! :p Funny how those hinged block lil' suckers manage to sneak into the trunk whenever I head for the range:)

The trunk-count for the range trip tomorrow in quest of the elusive X Ring is 2 Martinis, one boltaction, and a .22autoloader target pistol:D

Let's say my ratios are roughly 45/45/10 = Bolt, Semi, Martini :D
