So I think this turned out well for the bystanders and shooter. For the would-be-robber, not so much.

I don't know how well it will turn out for the shooter. My take is the bad guy was fleeing when he was shot. They say the shooter won't be charged but I would wait and see how this plays out. When the armed robber started to flee was he a threat? Now personally I see one less thug in the world as a "good thing" but wonder how this will play out.

I agree with that, the video shows the shooter aiming at a guy running away from him but we cant see what happened out of the frame before the shooting. Can it be a castle doctrine thing, does that exist in Georgia? I know Florida has that law on the books.

Another report said the shooter stayed in line to get those fancy shoes. Apparently the authorities had a grasp of the people's priorities. I would never camp out for anything like that, but similar future situations will only help make our case for us.

The police most likely realized that, even if he was leaving, he was still armed and still a potential threat to the huge crowd of people. And he had already expressed malicious intent. So even if he was leaving, as long as he still had his gun he was "armed and dangerous" and could shoot a random person in the crowd at any moment.

I call that gun control! A running man hit with pistol shots? When the local gang bangers here have a shoot out standing still at 10 yards they usually only hit the buildings behind each other. It is a good thing they were all the same race as that will help justice be blind....

The news piece said Atlanta police are considering the shooting self defense and weren't going to charge the shooter. That's surprising since the vide shows the armed robber fleeing as he's being shot at.
