I recently bought a Colt Anaconda that apparently is from the Colt custom shop. Came with paperwork that says it is “First Edition” 1 of 400. Serial number is MM003XX. What I would like to know is when it was made.... but I really don’t want to have to send Colt $100 to find out. Any information anyone might have and could share would be greatly appreciated. Just call Colt and they will tell you.

All of Colt's current production hand guns are so-called "custom shop" models. It abandoned so-called "regular" production some years ago and boosted its prices through the ceiling.

Colt made a run of "First Editions" for some distributor once I think. I've also seen a Delta Elite that was stamped "First Edition" and came in a presentation case.
