I carry a KelTec P3AT in a DeSantis Nemesis pocket holster as a backup. In a couple of days of carry, the slide gets very sticky with something that's difficult to remove, even with a solvent like Hoppe's No. 9. Rubbing alcohol won't cut it. I have tried different lubes on the pistol internals including graphite. I have tried using no lube at all. Still gets sticky. I've washed the holster. Still gets sticky The inside of the holster isn't sticky to the touch.

I have a second Nemesis for my Kahr .380 that never has the problem, but I carry it mostly in office garb. The P3AT is in my work jeans or Carhartts, gets occasionally dirty - chain saw crud, hauling topsoil, etc.

I regularly rotate the ammo, disassemble and clean the KelTec. It always goes bang.

Sent an email to DeSantis, no resonse. Makes me crazy.

Thoughts other than pitch it and try another?

Try talcum powder.

In the holster and not the gun, I assume? Ah, that's a smart a response. Thanks I will try it.

Yep. The holster. Oils and solvents will only make it worse. If the talc doesn't work, you can try powdered graphite.

Tuner,

I tried the talcumpowder and it seems to be working. I appreciate the tip.
